“A little gem in a big city” ~ Latest Metro Apartments on Bank Place Melbourne Reviews

Right, so this place is not 5 star, and it is an old building which has been updated over the years in a slightly hodge-podge kind of way, but for the price I paid for this and the location it is in, I was very happy with it. The staff on check in and check out were very helpful and friendly and assisted me with parking validation and a choice of restaurant. There are some great bars immediately downstairs and I only wished that I wasn't travelling alone so I could have gone and checked them out. Location is sensational, it is extremely central, but being in a non traffic laneway it was quiet. The bathrooms are very poky but the remainder of the room is spacious and pleasant. I think this place was really good value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

My wife and I enjoyed 9 nights here to attend a conference at the nearby RACV Club (one minute walk away) and pre and post conference tours. We were very pleasantly surprised. Don't be put off by the steps leading up to a very ordinary frontage and very modest reception area and lifts that are not ultra modern. This is a boutique hotel establishment that definitely hits the mark. We had a room on the 9th floor with a king size bed, which was very comfortable. We liked the fact that the living area and kitchen and the bedroom were separate rooms. The kitchen was more than adequate and well stocked with eating and cooking utensils. We cooked quite a few meals here.
The lounge area was small but we were comfortable watching the TV there. The bathroom facilities met our needs. We found the staff very efficient and helpful. What we particularly liked was the fact that this hotel is in historic Bank Place, one of those charming laneways that Melbourne is famous for, running between Little Collins and Collins Streets. Bank Place just oozes history with its jewel in the crown being the Mitre Tavern, 100 metres away and the oldest surviving building in Melbourne. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink or a meal after a hard day's touring. These Apartments represent excellent value for money and being in the heart of the Melbourne CBD you could not better the location.
